Description

BP Turbo Oil 2197

BP2197 is the High-Performance turbo oil line for BP/Eastman, with superior oil properties and less coking than its Standard BP2380 line. The series is approved under the strictest test standards designed for the new generation of commercial jet engines where higher operating temperatures and less lubricant requirements have pushed the limits under the SAE AS 5780B specification to form the high-performance capability (HPC) oil class along with Aeroshell Ascender and Mobil 387 with new manufacturer standards above the Standard Performance Capability *SPC Oils likewise certified under Mil-PRF 23699F.

BP Turbo Oil 2197 entered commercial airline service in mid-1995 and has already accumulated over 200 million hours of successful experience in more than 20,000 units of popular engine and accessory models. Users of this oil have been enjoying cleaner engines, i.e., less or no carbon deposits in oil supply and scavenge tubes or bearing compartments and some of them also experience less requent oil filter replacement The New Generation HPC oils are certified for the new generation engines such as the Trent 1000 operation on the Airbus 350. Aeroshell Ascender specifically improves the life of seals because of its elastomer compatibility, while also eliminating coking problems by maintaining stable thermal and oxidation properties. Until recently, it had been commonly accepted that the two are mutually exclusive, so that improving the oil's properties in one regard meant compromising the other.
